Contraband...Left Bank management (Los Angeles) put several of their acts together, to produce a 'super' metal band in the early ninetees. The result was Contraband whose line-up included: Michael Schenker (UFO, MSG), Traci Guns (LA Guns, Guns and Roses), Richard Black, Bobby Blotzer (RATT) and Share Pederson. Their version of "...Memphis" can be found on the 1991 Impact Records CD 'Contraband' and was the single released from that set. Michael Schenker has also released a live version by his latest incarnation of MSG on the 1997 '25th Anniversary' live double CD.
Brian May uses Mott sample...The latest (1998) Brian May album 'Another World', features a fine rendition of 'All The Way From Memphis' and includes a snippet of Ian Hunter banter from the 'Sweet Angeline' track of Motts own 'Live' album. I guess this is the same as the version on the Japanese Moth Poet Hotel compilation? |
