WHERE DO YOU ORIGINATE FROM?

I’m a Maid of Kent, born and raised in a small village in Kent.

WHERE DID YOU STUDY?

...studied graphics and illustration at Medway Art College, Rochester, Kent in the UK.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE?

Am now based in Sudbury, Suffolk UK.

WHAT MEDIUMS DO YOU USE - TRADITIONAL OR DIGITAL?

I love to paint and draw with both traditional and digital media and have a thorough knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

WHERE DOES INSPIRATION COME FROM?

Everything and anything. I take in current themes, also seasonal and natural events effect me hugely.

WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I worked in London as a packaging designer for many years, I was also senior designer at Trebor before becoming a freelance designer and illustrator.

DO YOU HAVE ANY BOOKS PUBLISHED?

Yes, I have had six craft template books published by David & Charles: Christmas, Fairies, Florals, Celebrations, Animals and Men's Motifs.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PUBLISHED ILLUSTRATIONS?

I was commissioned to come up with the Goddess illustrations for the Spellbound Jewellery book.

WHY ILLUSTRATION and DESIGN?

I live to draw – not draw to live! To get paid to draw is a wonderful thing.

DO YOU TEACH?

Yes, most recent teaching has been for P&O, I also run workshops when time allows.

SPARE TIME PURSUITS?

Being really boring... if I have a moment I will draw, but other things include renovating our old house so I constantly recycle – shabby chic –  transforming items such as furniture and picture frames, using paint techniques.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE WORLD – WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE?

Norway, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Caribbean, Spain, Greece, Madeira, Turkey and more. Favourite place... hmmm... Antigua, Runaway Bay.

WHAT MAKES YOU GASP IN APPRECIATION!?

Ornate Victorian designs, Italian typefaces and scripts, the colour Turquoise, sunsets, MGB GT’s and a cold glass of white wine.

FAV CLIENTS?

Obviously my current clients =) but I designed a range for L’oreal which was awesome to work on. Also working for the NSPCC, shooting craft videos with children was very rewarding and a totally fun experience.
